Strengthen Collaboration and Coordination

Foster strong partnerships between the Noonu Atoll Council, National Drug Agency, National Counter Terrorism Centre, Maldives Correctional Service, Gender Ministry, National Center for Social Security, Atoll Hospital, and healthcare service centers. Establish regular communication and coordination mechanisms. Develop a shared vision and strategic plan for addressing drug addiction and related issues.

Enhance Prevention Efforts

Develop and implement evidence-based drug prevention programs targeting youth and vulnerable populations.
Incorporate Islamic teachings and values into prevention programs to strengthen resilience. Strengthen community-based prevention initiatives through capacity building.

Improve Access to Treatment

Establish accessible and confidential drug treatment services in Noonu Atoll. Train healthcare providers in addiction treatment and management. Develop culturally appropriate treatment modalities, including medication-assisted treatment and psychosocial interventions.

Establish a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program

Develop a rehabilitation program that addresses physical, psychological, and social needs of addicts. Integrate Islamic teachings and values into the rehabilitation curriculum. Provide vocational training and life skills development to support reintegration.
