Municipal Services Mobile Unit

The implementation of the Municipal Services Mobile Unit will involve a holistic approach to ensure effective, efficient and sustainable service delivery within Noonu Atoll. First, a thorough assessment of the municipal service needs of island councils and resorts within the atoll will be conducted to identify specific equipment requirements. Based on this assessment, a comprehensive list of necessary equipment, including heavy machinery, construction tools, and maintenance equipment, will be identified and a vessel to accommodate the equipment, incorporating safety features for secure transportation and storage will be need to be customised. A schedule for visiting different islands will be developed based on their needs and priorities, and coordination with island councils and resorts will be essential for effective service delivery. The mobile unit will offer a range of services, in addition to waste management services including road maintenance and general municipal service support. Regular inspections and preventive maintenance will be ensured for the optimal performance and longevity of the equipment, machinery as well as the vessel. An inventory of spare parts will be maintained to facilitate timely repairs and replacements. To monitor and evaluate the performance of the mobile unit, key performance indicators will be established, and feedback mechanisms will be implemented to gather input from island councils, resorts, as well as community members. The collected data will be used to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments, ensuring that the mobile unit continues to meet the evolving needs of the Noonu Atoll community.
