We are actively engaging with the Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) to explore opportunities that could pave the way for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism development in Noonu Atoll. Through these discussions, we aim to advance shared ideas under the Atoll Development Strategy, focusing on diversifying tourism and fostering sustainable economic growth for our communities.

During recent meetings, we exchanged ideas about revitalizing council-owned properties, including a proposed Convention House project in Manadhoo, to create spaces suitable for hosting MICE events. This dialogue represents a thoughtful step towards enhancing our tourism offerings while creating opportunities for local businesses and residents.

Our conversations have included discussions on project priorities, potential impacts, and the necessary steps to assess feasibility. Officials have agreed to conduct site visits and to conduct detailed evaluations, ensuring that every potential development aligns with our vision of sustainability and cultural preservation.

This ongoing engagement reflects shared aspirations for integrated development, balancing economic potential with community well-being and environmental stewardship. While no formal commitments have been made, we remain committed to exploring these ideas with MITDC, fostering mutual understanding, and identifying pathways to progress together.

We look forward to sharing updates as we continue advancing these discussions for the betterment of Noonu Atoll and its people. Together, we can work towards a sustainable future where tourism serves as a tool for community empowerment and economic resilience.
