The Noonu Atoll Administration is honoured to announce the official visit of His Excellency Eric Walsh, the High Commissioner of Canada, to Noonu Atoll from January 28 to January 30, 2025. This visit represents a vital opportunity to strengthen partnerships, share ideas, and engage the community in shaping the future of our atoll.

Key Events Open to the Public:

Tuesday, January 28, 2025 – Manadhoo

  • 2:00 PM: Public Forum to officially launch the Reimagine Noonu Binaaveshi Project. This initiative showcases our collective commitment to sustainable and inclusive development across the Atoll.

  • 9:00 PM: Legal Consultation Sessions organised by the Public Interest Law Centre (PILC), for Public Offices

Wednesday, January 29, 2025 – Kudafari

  • 1:30 PM: Public Forum to discuss the Reimagine Noonu Binaaveshi Project, along with the Post Land Use Planning process of Kudafari. This forum invites voices from across Kudafari to share insights and ideas for a sustainable future.

  • Throughout the Day: PILC-hosted Legal Consultation Sessions to provide accessible legal support for citizens.

Thursday, January 30, 2025 – Maafaru

  • 1:00 PM: Presentation on the Maafaru Lagoon and Reimagine Land Use Plan, followed by a discussion forum focusing on development opportunities for the lagoon and reclaimed areas.

  • Throughout the Day: PILC-organised Legal Consultation Sessions open to the public for guidance on legal matters.
