The Noonu Atoll Quran Festival 2025, organised by the Noonu Atoll Council, concluded on Saturday, August 23, following three days of spirited competition and celebration in Noonu Velidhoo. The festival, held from August 21 to 23, brought together students from across the atoll in a shared commitment to Quranic learning and excellence.

Previously known as the Atoll Quran Competition, the event was rebranded last year as the Noonu Atoll Quran Festival, marking this as the second edition under its new identity. The festival’s primary objectives include fostering a deep love for the Holy Quran among students, promoting Tajweed and memorisation, advancing Quranic education, and preparing a new generation of Qaris and Huffaz capable of representing the Maldives at international levels.

This year’s festival recorded 181 participants from all schools in Noonu Atoll, competing in two main categories: Naazira / Tilawah (Recitation while reading) (107 participants) and Hifdh (Memorisation) (74 participants). The event was conducted in accordance with the Noonu Atoll Quran Festival Regulations 2025.

All participants were awarded certificates of recognition by the Atoll Council. Winners of the top three positions in each key stage received trophies, certificates, and prizes, while the overall champions in both categories were presented with additional cash awards.
