We are collaborating with Zero Waste Maldives to conduct hazardous waste audits across all thirteen islands of Noonu Atoll. This initiative, supported through a grant from the Ministry of Environment, reflects our ongoing commitment to improving hazardous waste management practices and advancing towards the zero-waste vision we share for our community.

The focus of this program is to identify sources of waste generation within our islands, with an emphasis on addressing hazardous materials. By taking a detailed and methodical approach, this collaboration will enable us to develop strategies that reflect the unique challenges and opportunities within each island. By improving waste management practices, we aim to reduce environmental impact while safeguarding public health and local ecosystems.

Effective waste management involves much more than disposal; it requires addressing root causes, fostering collective action, and ensuring that solutions developed are inclusive and long-lasting. Through collaboration with Zero Waste Maldives, we remain committed to implementing initiatives that reflect these values.

While this initiative lays the groundwork, we recognize that the success of such programs depends on the engagement and efforts of the local community. By involving residents in these practices and fostering collective awareness, we can create a cleaner and healthier future for all of us. We encourage community participation.
